Ultra Marathon Caballo Blanco 2022

Micah said the (Copper Canyon Ultramarathon) Ultra Marathon Caballo Blanco was a race created and sponsored by Korima. This is as true today as it nearly 20 years ago when he first had the idea of a run that would support the Raramuri (Tarahumara) community and introduce so many to these special lands and this wonderful community and it’s running culture. 

Over 1200 runners participated in the 19th running of the Ultra Caballo Blanco races this year. Runners from nearly every state in Mexico and 20 countries from around the world made their way to the beautiful Sierra Tarahumara to run free, to run together as one  with our Raramuri friends.

The Corre de Caballitos (kid’s races) were, as always, one of the highlights of the weekend with nearly 800 kids giving all they got sprinting down the streets of Urique. Of course, it’s a great experience and great day too for all the adult runners who volunteer to pass out shirts and medals and hugs and words of encouragement for all these young corredores.

True Messages is honored to help sponsor and support this event and do all we can to keep the traditions and spirit of the run alive a growing. The event itself is a ‘True Message’. We honor and celebrate the Raramuri people and these lands, but importantly we run free and we run together.
