Honoring Miguel Lara Viniegra

On March 25th we honored Miguel Lara Viniegra. This young man is an inspiration. He is one of the most successful endurance runners in all of Latin America but it is his character and approach to all of life that endears him to so many. Kind, humble, and giving he has become the pride of not only the local Raramuri communities and Urique, but also Chihuahua and all of Mexico.

Miguel is sponsored and supported by the Mexican Navy an honor reserved for only athletes that display exceptional leadership qualities as well as extraordinary athletic skills. He is married to Maribelle and has two children Hector and a brand new baby girl. His Mother Juana is a legendary Ariweta player and surely a source of Miguel’s running abilities.

Miguel is also a supplier and partner in Mas Korima which is one of True Messages supporters.

True Messages honored Miguel in his home village of Porochi. We sponsored a Rarajipari event and a community wide celebration to recognize Miguel and all his contributions. We were able to distribute pantry staples to the runners and those in need within the community and have a nice day of meals, music, and community. Viva Miguel Lara!
