LAUNCH ANNOUNCEMENT
We are privileged to announce the initiation and launch of ‘True Messages’.
True Messages was created as a nonprofit platform to continue the projects and share the inspirational Messages of our friend Micah True’s life, words and works in support of the Raramuri peoples of the Sierra Tarahumara.
Our emphasis remains focused on the Message of Kórima. A Raramuri tenet that speaks greatly to the kindness and community focus of the culture. What is mine, is also yours. If it is needed and it is available, it is not ‘given’ as it is already yours. There are no attached expectations because it is as it should be.
Our projects and efforts retain the goals of Norawas de Raramuri, the nonprofit founded by Micah, by supporting the running heritage that remains so important to the Raramuri culture and self-identity. We also place great emphasis on the youth of the community, joining in to help encourage an active and healthy lifestyle and providing resources that address special needs as they arise. One hundred percent of any monetary donation or one hundred percent of the profits from any Korima items purchased is used to support these efforts.
Micah said, “We are the Messengers”. In a world of great challenges, far too often the life noises we are exposed to are disrespectful of one another and nature. It is in this environment that the importance of Messages that celebrate our beautiful mother earth, one another, our humanity, and our potential, that are most important. It is this coming together as one that is perhaps the Message of most importance. While our projects are supportive of our friends in the Barrancas del Cobre, our opportunity to share as Messengers is planet wide. We hope you join in with us, with whatever capacity you are able.
Launch Project
We are super excited to share that as part of the founding of True Messages and to launch our fundraising efforts, renowned artist Yatika Star Fields has generously created a work of art that honors Micah, the Raramuri, and all the Messengers. Yatika is not only an amazing artist, he is also an endurance runner who is greatly inspired by the Raramuri peoples.
A limited art poster of Yatika’s beautiful piece entitled ‘A Message’ has been created and can be purchased for a $40 donation. We also have a very limited number of posters that have been signed by Yatika available for an $80 donation. These posters are made of quality thick paper stock with a matte finish and are very suitable for framing.
