School Visits with UMCB 2025 group

This year for the week long Caballo Blanco Ultra Marathon Experience group we visited both Porochi and Guadalupe/Coronado Elementary schools. Both of these schools are in Raramuri communities. Members of the group brought school supplies including; gym equipment, socks, jackets, notebooks, crayons and more. Of course they also brought treats. Each time groups visit the schools the children are super excited to interact with the group members. They appreciate the gifts as well but the sharing of time by playing simple playground games is what they enjoy the most. The new Messengers (2025 group- which included several who had already been to the Sierra and thus already Messengers) equally had so much fun hanging out with the young ones.

Jose Luis has been kind enough to open up time for us to visit the Porochi school for several years. It is a great pleasure watching the children grow. More recently Filipe from the Guadalupe/Coronado school has also welcomed our visits. For every group that comes to the Sierra our school visits are a highlight.
